Tips for Your Beauty Self-Care Routine

Let’s face it, the beginning of this year has been hard. With all the uncertainties that have come from the COVID-19 outbreak, many of us have been feeling more stressed these last few months than we normally would. It’s no secret that when you start to feel overwhelmed by everything happening without giving yourself a chance to stop and reflect, you can really cause yourself to burnout. That’s why creating a self-care routine is so important during this time. To help you give the love and attention you deserve, we’ve laid out some tips for your beauty self-care regimen!

Create Your Own Face Mask

Who says you can’t have your own spa day at home? This tip is especially relevant for those of us who are getting bored of having the same routine while being cooped up in the house. Making your own mask is a great way to break up your day and give yourself the break you deserve! And the best part is that it’s super easy to do! There are many DIY face masks recipes that only require food ingredients you’d find around the house. Even doing this small thing to help your skin can make a huge difference in your day!

Clean Out Your Beauty Supplies

Cleaning may be the last thing you’re motivated to do right now but it really can help you feel more accomplished. In fact, many people are using this time to clean and organize things they never thought they would have time for. For us beauty mavens, this probably means our makeup and hair supplies! While we should be cleaning them out regularly, time often gets away from us and we tend to skip a month or two. Well, now is your chance to give your beauty supplies that deep cleaning you’ve always wanted to do! Not only will this benefit your supplies and beauty care, but also just makes you feel so much better to know you’re doing something productive.

Give Yourself a Manicure or Pedicure

Although you may not be a professional when it comes to manicures and pedicures, cutting and painting your nails is something simple you can do to give yourself a well-deserved break. After all, your nails still need to get properly taken care of and doing it yourself can give you a good excuse to pause any tasks you’re completing and take a moment to reflect. Plus, it feels good to see your beautiful nails and admire the work you’ve done. After experimenting with multiple different nail designs, you may even find out that you love trying out new styles and have a real talent for it!

Go the Extra Mile for Your Hair

If you’re feeling stuck at home, why not take this situation and use it to your advantage by stepping up your hair care routine? There are so many things you can be doing to help your hair that you may normally not think about when you’re going out every day. Have you never even considered skipping washing your hair a day or two even though this can strip your hair of essential oils? Now that you’re at home, you don’t have to worry about greasy hair and can take a break from the constant washings. This can even train your hair to know it doesn’t have to be washed every day so you can continue this routine.

Other ways you can protect your hair during this time are avoiding heat-styling tools and making time to deep condition your hair!

Make Time for What You Love

Don’t let this stressful time make you feel like you can’t make time for things that bring you joy. Whether you showed your passion for beauty by perfecting your skin care routine or looking up makeup tutorials online, it’s important that you continue to let yourself still enjoy those moments. We know this time is especially hard because there’s so much we can’t control. But that’s why doing something you genuinely love can make a world of difference in helping you feel more grounded.

Give Yourself a Chance to Relax

This isn’t necessarily a beauty self-care tip but we think it’s important enough to mention. With all these stressful changes, remember to stop and take a moment to let yourself unwind. Whether that comes by meditating, taking a walk, practicing yoga poses, or just doing some breathing exercises. Give yourself time to move your body and do something you find relaxing, It really can make all the difference in your day!
