How to Crush Your Goals in 2021 January 10, 2021

We think it’s safe to say that we’re all feeling a little worn out from everything that’s happened in 2020. Over the last few months, a lot of people have struggled to feel motivated to go after their goals. But as we start to head into the new year, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to get recharged and ready to look toward starting an education you feel passionate about! 

So how can you stay motivated after the year we just had? We’ve got you covered with our list of ways to crush your beauty goals in 2021! 

Spread Out Your Goals

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with one big goal that isn’t clear to you where to start. Especially after the year we’ve had, it’s important that you be kind to yourself and break up your big goal into multiple smaller ones. That means instead of saying you want to graduate from beauty school, start with a goal of spending time learning more about which program you want to apply for. Once you complete that goal, keep making them until you slowly work your way toward becoming a beauty school graduate! These are some great examples of goals to help you get started: 

• Learn more about the beauty industry and decide which program is right for you.
• Research the financial aid process and which options you qualify for.
• Schedule a tour at a beauty school to see what student life is like there.
• Meet the admissions team and ask them any questions specific to you.
• Start the application process.

Take Regular Breaks

The last thing you want to do is get burnout while you’re working toward your goal of starting beauty school. That’s why it’s so important to take breaks as you began your research to make sure you don’t start to feel fatigued. This last year has given us enough stress! Giving yourself a manicure or pedicure, looking up recent beauty trends, and focusing on a skincare routine are some of our favorite ways to take a break. 

Reward Yourself

Along with taking breaks, don’t forget to also reward yourself when you’ve accomplished one of the goals you set. This will help encourage you to keep moving forward and also give you an opportunity to do something fun in the beauty world. If you’re really looking forward to making the next step in your beauty education, you can even reward yourself by coming in for a visit at our student salon.
